ISO 3834 - Quality Requirements for Welding
ISO 3834 is dedicated to welding and defines the guidelines useful both for those who perform the welding activities, both for those who evaluate the ability of the manufacturer to produce welded products according to the requirements of the standard.
For welding activities, quality cannot be totally controlled on the product, from this disadvantage comes the introduction of ISO 3834, which defines the "Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic material". The ISO 3834 is designed so that it can be used both for the manufacture (including any type of welded construction for molding) both for the evaluation.
The quality management system in the welding can be integrated with the quality management system (ISO 9001), obtaining benefits in terms of optimization of the documentation and in efficiency of audits.
The standard allows an univocal definition of the welding characteristics and provides specific guidelines for the verification/qualification of suppliers of welded products.
ISO 3834 certification issued by CSI:
• Is a useful tool to define and maintain quality welding requirements;
• Represents "presumption of conformity" in the sphere of the European Directives (PED, CPR),
• Integrates seamlessly within the quality management system according to ISO 9001 and is preparatory to the production control system according to EN 1090-1.
